18 weeks and feeling great.

Just a quick update. I'm 18 weeks along and excited to be approaching the half way mark. I am feeling great although I am still dealing with some minor issues. Yep..I'm starting to get bigger, finally! My belly is definitely showing now and some of my clothes are being stored away until after Baby Dan is born. To be honest I am excited about getting bigger, I'm over hearing "You don't look pregnant." I find myself to be eating more too, I guess I should since there are two to feed. I haven't had any crazy cravings, just a sweet tooth that I never had before. I like to think that I have been very stable as far as my emotions are concerned, my husband may think differently. Well.. my patients are a bit shorter but Dan knows how to push my buttons. On a whole I am very happy with the pregnant experience and I am looking forward to see what the remainder holds.
The Baby's Progress:
How your baby's growing: Head to bottom, your baby is approximately 5 1/2 inches long (about the length of a bell pepper) and he weighs almost 7 ounces. He's busy flexing his arms and legs — movements that you'll likely start noticing more and more. His blood vessels are visible through his thin skin and his ears are now in position and stand out from his head. Myelin (a protective covering) is beginning to form around his nerves, a process that will continue for a year after he's born.

IT'S A BOY!

We are so excited to share with you all the exciting news, BABY CROWLEY IS A BOY! Dan Michael Crowley III, Dan wouldn't have any other name. We went for a scheduled doctor's appointment on Tuesday and since I'm still experiencing some issues the doctor opted for another ultrasound, of course we didn't object. As soon as the ultrasound started Dan and I both were anxious to find out the sex. The nurse was able to see right away that the baby was a little man. We weren't quite sure what she was seeing but after she pointed it all out to us it was clear that we have a baby boy. My dear husband is SO EXCITED though he claims he didn't have a preference. Me, I'm starting to really like the idea of having two men in my life! I have a feeling that Baby Dan may be a momma's boy, I hope.

I'm about 17 weeks now, and I'm feeling great. I've gained 6 pounds but I'm still fitting in my clothes. I'm looking forward to getting a bigger belly and looking more pregnant. The baby is now about 5 inches long and about 5 ounces. I believe in the next couple of weeks he will double in weight and length. In about 3 weeks we head back for another ultrasound to measure all the tiny body parts to be sure we are on track. Dr Schiavi has no concerns for me or the baby, we are doing great so far.

That's it for now, we will be in touch.

Happy Birthday Graycen

Graycen Theresa Delbert
9.8 lbs
Proud parents : Adrianne and Lenny Delbert

5th Ultrasound

We headed to the doctor's office again yesterday to check up on things b/c since the last visit I had experienced some complications again. Thank goodness all is well and actually things are getting better. The placenta has already started to shift to the correct position. The doctor now has no concerns that it will cause me any problems, YAHOO! The baby is doing great. Here's the scoop, I saw the 2 arms and 2 legs kicking and swinging in the womb; the baby is weighing in at 3 ounces..so cool; the heartbeat is 165 per minute; everything is measuring how it should.. and yesterday Baby Crowley measured 14 weeks and 4 days old. By the way, I tried my very best to see the sex of the baby, but it was too blurry to tell for sure. We think we saw something that resembled a little weenie, but it is NOT definite. I've had two dreams that I'm having a little man, so I'm not sure if that is some sort of clue. Either way we are so excited that everything is going so well and our little one is doing so well. I'm a bit anxious to meet the baby, to think I have 25 weeks left is just a bit frustrating.

Yesterday I spent the day at the hospital with our friends Adrianne and Lenny Delbert who welcomed their first child into the world. Happy Birthday Graycen Theresa Delbert! Graycen was an impressive 9 lbs 8 oz. Congrats Delberts.

How do you like being pregnant? 13 weeks and 1 day

As you all can see I have taken some time to post pictures and here's my first progression picture. I think I have quite a little belly, but not too many people agree. I think this stage is a bit weird because I'm the second trimester but no one can really tell that I'm even pregnant.

I've been asked the question, "How do you like being pregnant?" numerous times so I thought I'd write about it. To be completely honest, I'm very surprised that I'm truly enjoying it as much as I am. Dan has been great, my family on a whole as been great and I think that all makes it even more a pleasurable experience. I know what you all are curious about... the NO DRINKING aspect. Not even an issue, doesn't bother me at all. I must be honest I look forward to a glass of red red wine once the baby is out but I'm not tempted by it at this point. Since I've found out that I'm pregnant I haven't had a stress in the world. Maybe the baby is all that really matters to me right now, not sure, but its some nice having such peace of mind. I sleep great and have sweet dreams, something I never had before being pregnant. That could have been due to the wine with dinner every night, ha. If being pregnant is this GREAT then Dan and I need to get a larger home because I may want to take it up as a hobby. I know its early on for all you "nay sayers" but so far so awesome!
As always, please keep us in your prayers.

Another trip to the Doctor, 4th ultrasound

It seems like I visit the doctors office once a week now, but no worries everything is still ok. After a busy Mardi Gras I called to inform my doctor that I had experienced bleeding Sunday morning and also Tuesday afternoon, they wanted me to come in to be sure all was ok. I don't freak out any longer when I see the blood b/c I have now come to realize that its just something I have to deal with and it has yet to affect Baby Crowley. Finally after another ultrasound we have found out what is the cause of the bleeding, placenta previa. The placenta is sitting low and with too much activity I can cause blood vessels to burst which in turn causes a gushing of blood. The doctor has informed me that I must take it easy, and that some doctors would put their patients on strict bed rest. Since I'm so early in the pregnancy the doctor is hoping to see the placenta shift to the correct spot. The baby is doing great, this was the fourth ultrasound and the baby is getting bigger and bigger. We tried to peep to see what the sex is but unfortunately it is still too early. I'm scheduled to head back to the doctor in 3 weeks and that visit should be the one we find out what we are blessed with.
Again, please keep us in your prayers!
