Check him out!!

I love these images of Baby Dan. These were from the ultrasound that was done Monday. It actually looks like he's laughing to me, but the nurse said he was yawning. Either way, they are really funny. Speaking of funny I have to share this, again the ultrasound tech asked me if I knew the sex of the baby. I replied, "Yes a baby boy." She went on the inform me and daddy-o (that's Dan) that our precious baby did not only reveal his penis right when she put him on the screen but that he also had his tiny hand playing with it. NO JOKE! I'm freaked out by the whole penis thing, and now I have a little pervert on my hands. I'm not sure what's in store for us and I'm really not sure if I can handle it.
Anyway, Baby Dan is just perfect as far as the doctor is concerned and the ultrasounds reveal. He's about 1 pound and approximately 12 inches long. Me, I've gained 13 pounds and the doc is pleased with my progress. Next visit I get tested for Gestational Diabetes. I'm still feeling great and I'm still as happy as can be.

Take Off at 23 weeks!

Wow, every morning I'm amazed how my stomach has grown over night. I'm having a hard imagining myself a month from now, b/c I will be large. It seems so far that it's all in my belly, thank goodness. Could you imagine if my butt grew bigger and bigger every single night, scary. Anyway, things seem to be on track and I am feeling just fine. We are headed to the doctor on Monday so I will post then with an update

How your baby's growing:Your baby is more than 11 inches long and weighs just over a pound (about as much as a large mango). His skin is red and wrinkled. Blood vessels in his lungs are developing to prepare him for breathing. He can swallow, but he normally won't pass his first stool (called meconium) until after birth. Loud noises heard often in utero — such as your dog barking or the roar of a vacuum cleaner — probably won't faze your baby when he hears them outside the womb.

Fundraiser

This past weekend I attended a fundraiser for a high school friend who is battling cancer. Her name is Ashlie Randazzo, she is only 28 years old and fighting a rare form of cancer (Ewing's Sarcoma.) Thanks to MD Anderson and prayers she has overcome some serious odds and is moving closer to a recovery. Please keep her in your prayers. While there I ran into some high school friends, check out the pics. Also, the fundraiser was a huge success raising $17,000 for Ashlie, awesome!

29th Birthday

Not only am I getting bigger and bigger by the day, but I was reminded that I'm also getting older. For the past two days we have been celebrating my 29th birthday and this of course will be one I will not forget. Probably b/c there's no booze involved! Anyway, thank you for all the birthday wishes and all the nice gifts, I'm really spoiled. We celebrated by going to dinner Tuesday night at Jacquios (my favorite), good food has been something that makes me very HAPPY. Wednesday my brother Chris and his wife Jess baked up one heck of cake for another celebration. Layla Grace and I both enjoyed that cake very much. Again, thank you all so much for all the fun and festivities. Next year's the big one...30!

Baby Bernie

Looking at my nephew I thought to myself, "I sure hope there's some cuteness left in the family for my sweet baby, b/c Tad is way TOO CUTE"

Where did my waist line go?

So, here I am at 21 weeks and I noticed in the mirror that I no longer have waist, a bit bizarre. Seems like this past week my body really changed and a nice bump popped out. I've gained about 11 pounds, to me it looks like even more then that. This is what I have been waiting for, I know, but now I think I might be a little weirded out seeing my body change so quickly and having absolutely no control over it. Speaking of "no control," the boobs are out of control. What a crazy, crazy experience!

Baby Dan has been shaken and movin' in the tummy. I constantly feel him moving around. I'm wondering if he has dance moves like his Daddy, scary! We try to talk to him every night and tell him just how much we already love him. We explain to him that Dan is his Daddy and I'm his mommy and Mollie is his sister, weird..I know. We also promise him to be the best parents, we have really set high expectations for ourselves, but I'm sure we are going to do everything possible to meet them.

At 21 weeks, our "little Mano" now weighs about three-quarters of a pound and is approximately 10 1/2 inches long — the length of a carrot. His eyebrows and eyelids are fully developed. And I can certainly feel him move. He's oblivious to my schedule, though, so I'm not to be surprised if he starts working out just when I'm settling down for the night. (according to Baby Center)
