29 weeks down and only 11 weeks to go

Wow, 29 weeks down and only 11 more to go until our little precious one enters this crazy world. Time has passed so quickly, it really seems as if Dan and I just found out we were going to be parents. Guess What? I'm still feeling awesome. I'm totally blessed because this has been just a wonderful experience for both Dan and I.
What's going on in our world?
As always, we stay super busy with our social life, I think that has helped pass the time. We are looking forward to a long beach getaway to Destin, Fl in July. I have officially quit what I call my "morning job' as of yesterday. That should give me some free time to get Baby Dan Michael's room ready. I have a date with my girlfriends tomorrow to go to lunch and then to register for the baby's stuff. I'm going with other mommies so they can help me choose the real necessities. I must say, I'm super excited! The thought of going to register really gives me a feeling that he's on his way.
That should be about it for now. I will be in touch real soon b/c we are now seeing Dr. Shiavi every two weeks. Our next visit is scheduled for June 3.
Until then hugs and kisses!

I SURVIVED

I survived! Today was my scheduled check up at the doctors and the scheduled gestational diabetes test. I must admit I'm a bit ridiculous when it comes to getting blood drawn and I knew what I was in store for today so last night I shed some tears in fear of the needle. I love going for my check ups, I have an awesome doc and I always leave with good news about the baby's progress. I awoke this morning at 6:00AM with the anticipation of the appointment, and I wined to Dan all morning long. Well, I made out like a champ! When I got to the office I had to drink a bottle of some stuff that actually tasted ok in my book. Then I was informed that in an hour I would have two tubes of blood drawn, nice some time think about it. Well during that time I went in to see Dr Schiavi for my check up and all is great with me and Baby Dan. I've gained about 17 pounds, I like to think that its all in my belly and boobs. After the check up I was sent back to the waiting room to finish off my remaining 30 minutes. I called Dan in for back up, he said he would meet at the office in time for the "NEEDLE". 5 minuted prior to the 10:30 time I was given I was called in, I was hoping I would sit in the waiting area for the rest of my life, so I headed in to give the blood without Dan by my side :( I did it, I gave two little tubes of blood and didn't pass out. The nurse did a good job of keeping me preoccupied so I really didn't notice that I did it. I'm so proud of myself, and happy for Dan that I didn't pass out b/c then he would have had hell to pay for not being there with me. All worked out, Dan picked me and gave me a pat on the back and we went on our merry way.
I must say that I still have no complaints about being pregnant. I have found this to be quite a breeze so far. If I'm on track the baby will be 28 weeks Friday and that make 7 months! I'm finding myself thinking more and more about the arrival of the baby and what he will look like and how he will react to us. I can hardly wait for the big day.

Pool Time

Sunday we had a beautiful day out by Uncle Paul and Aunt Ann's pool. Chrissy and I spent the day catching some rays! Later Layla Grace got to come bye to hang out too!

Is it going to be an outtie?

HAHA...I'm so amused by my belly button! The bigger the belly gets the more it looks as if I'm going to be sporting an outtie. I was freaked out by the idea at first but now its just comical. Its not quite out yet, but if I put pressure right around the button I can get it to pop out. Check it "out", hehehe.

Visiting with the Vicks

This past weekend we got to spend some time with Jeff, Sue and Marley Vick. Marley was born January 3rd, and this was the first time we got to spend a whole day with her. She is so precious and so well behaved. I only hope baby Dan will be so content. Isn't she just a doll?

Baby Dan's Room

A little over a month ago my in laws, Mr. Dan and Mrs. Patricia, took me to the Baby's Room to pick out furniture for Baby Dan. They were so very generous that they even picked up the bill. Believe me it is greatly appreciated because this stuff is not cheap. The good news is that the furniture will grow with the baby so he will have it until he moves out on his own.

The only other thing that I've take time to pick out yet is the bedding. Check it out below. We are going for a nautical themed room. We bought some cool vintage oars to hang up and we are also getting some porthole mirrors.

27 Weeks

Time sure is flying, I've just hit my 27th week of being pregnant. I'm feeling pretty darn good. Last week we had some pretty HOT days, and those were a bit uncomfortable but life goes on, right? I know I have many, many more of those in store.
Here's the scoop on the little one:

This week the baby weighs almost 2 pounds (like a head of cauliflower) and is about 14.4 inches long with his legs extended. He can now open and close his eyes, and he sleeps and wakes at regular intervals. He may suck his fingers, and although his lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with assistance — if he were to be born prematurely. Chalk up any rhythmic movement you may be feeling to a case of baby hiccups, which may be common from now on. Each episode usually lasts only a few moments, and isn't bothersome to him, so enjoy the tickle. With more brain tissue developing, your baby's brain is very active now. Wonder what he's thinking?

Twinkies

Here's me and my sister in law Jessica. We're pregnant twinkies.
