I'm going to try to take this situation as a learning experience. I pray that I will be able to handle these situations better in the future. Its just so sad to see someone you love so much sick and uncomfortable.

Really, Really Sad
This past Sunday we had a very scary experience. Dan Michael came down with his first illness, and it wasn't pretty. It went down like this. He woke up Sunday in a fussy mood, I contributed it to maybe teething and gave him Tylenol. We had plans to go to Uncle Paul's for the Sens Family Christmas so we headed there for noon. When we got there after some time Dan Michael went down for a nap. When he awoke he had a large gob of green yucky stuff. I was upset because I figured that meant he was coming down with something. Well, I sure didn't expect for him to come down with "something" so fast. At about 6:00 when awoke from another nap his little eye was swollen shut. I came out the room and was really shaken up. Uncle Buck advised me that I may want to get him to Children's Hospital. That was really scary, so I sort of lost. I cried like a sissy. I couldn't react like a mom because I was so overwhelmed and saddened by the way my baby looked and by the thought that he may have to go the hospital. Michelle, who has been through it all with a sick baby, stepped in and advised me that I should call in to Dan Michael's doctor and let him advise me what to do. Good thinking! That's what we did. Dan had to talk on the phone with the doctor because I couldn't stop crying when I tried to talk about it. Haha, I know I was pitiful. The doctor diagnosed the baby with pink eye. I think it was a viral pink eye. She called him in some magical drops. Dan scooped up the drops and well our little one is slowly getting better and better. Monday night he broke his fever. Yesterday he was in great spirits. Today, his has no swelling left and just has some redness left on his eye ball.

SOLID FOODS
Our little man had his first solid food yesterday, Sunday the 14th. We may have jumped the gun on starting him on his solids but he loved it. At his 4 month visit the doctor told us we should wait until about 5 or 6 months to start him but I couldn't wait. Dan steamed some carrots, then put them in a blender, then added a little water to come up with this delicious dish. Dan Michael would still be sitting in his high chair eating carrots if I let him. He could not get enough. he would get frustrated if I didn't get the next spoonful in fast enough. He's a PIGGY!
Happy Birthday Tad!
Tad is getting to be such a big boy. This past weekend we celebrated his 2nd Birthday. It was a Thomas the Train party and it was all FUN! The was a train that took the guest on a ride. There was a space walk for the big kids. We were even surprised by a Lion that made a visit. This party had it all!
December 11, 2008. AMAZING. This morning we woke up to a pleasant surprise, SNOW! Pleanty of snow. It started about 8 in the morning and went on for about 2 1/2, maybe 3 hours. Everything was covered with snow. Of course things went crazy. I didn't have to go to work, everyone was calling to talk about it. Now its back in the upper seventies, only in New Orleans!
