Sand Destin 2009

Sand Destin 2009 was a great trip. This year we rented a 5 bedroom house right on the beach. There were the usual suspects, Paul, Ann, Patrick, Colin, Chris, Jess, Layla, Micah, Dan, Me, and Dan Michael. Then we had so guests that rotated in through the week, Bill, Erin and Zack Schultz, Aunt Kathy, Lizzy, and Famous Amos. Our late nights were accompanied by many The Archer Family, The Landry Family, The Charbonnet's and others. We had loads of fun and created many memories.
Dan Michael was a trooper. He did fairly well on the ride up with the help of Amy and a DVD player. Once there he was great. He loved, loved, loved the beach. We pitched a large tent in the mornings and put everything he could ever need under it. We had a pool, his chair for lunch and snacks, we had toys, we had plenty of food and snacks for our hungry man. Dan Michael was referred to as the Sea Turtle as fast as he was placed down on the sand he crawled straight to the water. He spent the whole day on the beach, morning to evening. We were blessed that he enjoyed so much

.

Summer Days

I've recently started working morning instead of afternoons which seems to be working better for Dan Michael and I. Instead of waiting to go to work all morning long, I now get it over with and get to do fun things with Dan Michael in the afternoons. We like to go swimming, have play dates with friends, Zoo and Aquarium too. Here are a couple of shots of an afternoon that the two us spent at the aquarium.

Where is the time going?

Time is flying bye, Dan Michael is already 10 months. Now that he's on the go its hard to find time to keep up with our blog. We have had a very busy summer far, with trips to Jersey and Sand Destin, play dates and so much more. We are going to try to fill you in on it all.

Trip to New Jersey to see Nanny, Uncle Jay and Nola
May 15, 2009 - May 18 2009
I wasn't sure what to expect of this trip because Dan had to miss out because of work. So Dan Michael's first flight would be my watch. It went better then expected. I scheduled an early flight out, like 6 am, so the baby would sleep. That went well because he slept about 2 hours of the 2 hr 45 min flight. When he woke he was restless and ready to get down to crawl, we managed and people on the flight commented how well he did. Way to go baby boy. The flight home was a packed flight. We flew out at about 7 pm, he slept the entire way home. I'm blessed that he is so easy going.
While in Jersey we spent alot of time playing with Nola and relaxing. We got to celebrate their annual crawfish boil too. They fly up the crawdads from LA the day before. We have so much FUN! We look forward to another visit soon.

Happy Mother's Day!

What a treat Mother's Day was this year because I was a mommy! The Saturday before Mother's Day we invited our Mom's (Dan Michael's Grandmother's) over for a crawfish boil. The celebration was a hit. We had all the kiddies in the baby pool, we ate, listened to good music and enjoyed great company.

On Sunday we celebrated by going to church and then coming home for so rest and relaxation. Rest and relaxation is a rare treat for me and Dan, we are on the go all to often. After that we head to Paul and Ann's house for a mother's day brunch. There Dan Michael, Uncle Paul and I swan the day away. The others cooked, and ate, cooked and ate.

Happy 9 Months Big Boy!

Can you believe that our little man is 9 months? Well believe it, because on May 8th, 2009 he hit the 9 month mark. He's an amazing little guy.

Weight:
20 lbs. 2.5 oz (25%- 50%)

Height:
29 inches (75%)
Head:
18 inches (50%-75%)
Talking:
He's making so many sounds that its hard for me to keep up. Let's see, here's what he's saying (trying to put it in order of what came first):
ahh
da-da
ma-ma
na-na
ka-ka
ga-ga
da-e
I think that's everything. Its seems like every couple of days he gets another sound.

Eating:
No more baby food. He refuses to eat baby food out of a jar. He loves, loves, loves Cheerios. Dan Michael also hates to be fed off of a spoon, he wants to feed himself everything. So, we have to find things that he can feed himself and we break it up small enough for him to eat. He enjoys mashed potatoes but it depends on his mood if he going to eat them off the spoon. Seems to be pretty independent.
Crawling/Cruising:
Dan Michael has masted crawling. He's quick, and loves to chase Mollie. If you not looking and he gets a away, your most likely to find him in a bathroom. Not sure why, but he loves bathrooms!
Yep, he's getting to be a big boy, cruising along the furniture. He has let go before, only to fall right on his behind. I think he will walk before his first birthday but only time can really tell.

Sorry, its been a little bit since I last updated. We are so very busy with this little guys that it seems like there is no time for anything else. He's is on go. Dan Michael is crawling all over. If he sees an open door he's heading out of it. If he see stairs he's climbing up them and falling back down them. We have to try keep an eye on him at all times.

Dan Michael now has 6 teeth. He has four at the top including his front two and two at the bottom. He uses those teeth to eat anything and everything. Dan Michael loves Cheerios, donuts, french fries, and pretty much anything else you put in front of him. For as much as he eats I'm surprise he's not fatter. I mean this kid eats a lot! He still loves to have his milk, formula. Dan Micheal seems pretty advanced but he still refuses to hold his own bottle. Its crazy! He can hold it, but he chooses not to. Dan and I agree that he will walk and we we still have to hold his bottle for him. Shoot, we may be holding his beers for him when he's 21.

Dan Michael is still a very happy and social baby. He's very inquisitive. He enjoys water. We take him swimming just about every weekend. We also took Dan Michael on his first fishing trip. We went down to Pat Fannings camp in Hopedale and enjoyed a day on the water.
Our sweet boy has sort of bizarre sleeping habits. Some nights he wakes up only one time for a bottle while other nights he wakes up every three hours. It may be due to the fact that we have no sort of set schedule. He takes random naps throughout the day for about 30-40 minutes. When he gets really tired he starts punching himself in the head. Weird right? When he's really tired he doesn't get fussy like most babies he get silly and punches himself in the head. HA ha.
I think that's all the updating I have for now. Enjoy!

Happy Easter

Easter 2009 was fabulous. Easter Sunday was celebrated by waking up late and taking our time getting to church. At church, which we attend weekly, Dan Michael sings like a bird. Every Sunday he puts on a show for the other attendees and keeps everyone snickering. Its so funny and amusing. After church we headed to Uncle Brother's house to see Granny B, Jess, Layla Grace and Micah. There we took some fun pictures of all the little ones together. Dan Michael also got to spend time playing with his 2 month older cousin Micah. They were so funny playing together, whatever Dan Michael wanted to play with Micah insisted on having. Micah even went as far as tackling Dan Michael so he couldn't play at his table. So FUNNY! After that, we headed to the Fitzpatrick family. There Dan Michael got to spend time with Grandma, Grandpa and also GG. He was a bit tired so he ended up napping most of the time. We ended Easter with a visit to Uncle Pat and Aunt Kathy's house. There Dan Michael enjoyed delicious potato salad. He eats anything we give him. It was quite a long day for us all but a memorable one!
